I skip this chapter and just go through to chapter 6... I’m sorry :)... Let’s
start! How we want to measure info technology success? For me there is many
ways to measure it but for the most important that we can see is from the
efficiency and effectiveness aspects of the business. The efficiency IT metrics
is function to measure the performance of the IT system itself include
throughput, speed and availability. The effectiveness metrics is measure the
impact IT on business processes and activities include customer satisfaction,
conversion rates and sell through increases.
There is five types of efficiency IT
metrics which are throughput, transaction speed,
system availability, info accuracy, web traffic and response time.
Basically it’s about how long the info can perform using a system that can make
it easier to the people to see it.
For the effectiveness IT metrics the
common types are usability, customer satisfaction, conversion rates and
financial. It is basically about customer or public those use our system. Is
there achieve the satisfaction or not. It is depends on the system of the
effectiveness IT metrics at there.
These things also relate to the SCM metrics, CRM metrics,
BPR metrics and ERP
metrics. The balances of this
metrics are customer, financial, internal business process and learning and
growth. From all the perspectives the organization can develop successfully.
